Mijn man en ik werden in 2016 voor de derde keer ouders. Dit keer was het een klein meisje, Alma, dat werd geboren met een zeldzame oogziekte – aangeboren staar – en daarom bij haar geboorte blind was aan haar linkeroog.
Een oogoperatie op 7 maanden leeftijd was het begin van een dagelijks leven met brillen en training voor haar slechte oog met een oogpleister die ze de helft van haar wakkere tijd moest dragen.
Het idee voor Vision4Kids ontstond uit onze persoonlijke situatie en is gebaseerd op de visie dat alle kinderen de best mogelijke kansen moeten hebben om het best mogelijke gezichtsvermogen te bereiken, omdat een beter gezichtsvermogen de levenskwaliteit verbetert.
